I’m a PhD candidate at the department of Sociology at the University of Amsterdam, and the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS) in the Netherlands.
My work centers around stereotypes and prejudice against different minority groups, and to what extent quantitative methods can be used to capture intersectional mechanisms. I’m also interested in processes of categorisation, and how using gradational measures or looking at prototypicality can highlight otherwise invisible inequalites.
My PhD project is placed in the Horizon Europe funded project EQUALSTRENGTH which investigates cumulative and structural forms of discrimination, outgroup prejudice and hate crimes against ethnic, racial and religious minorities. As part of the project I have been collecting data on majority prejudice and stereotypes using experimental methods. For more information see my Research page.
